Pattern Description
The Pig Sticker is another worm imitation. The difference on this worm, is that you can weight the underbody to use it without any additional weight on the line. The Kahle Hook, with it's extreme hook bend mimics a writhing worm as it drifts through the water and has great hooking power. Be careful with some of the bigger Mustad hooks, as the gap can be a bit wide and results in a brainer oftentimes. I usually flatten the bend on the larger hooks to narrow the gap a bit and eliminate this problem. You can tie the Pig Sticker in a variety of colors and freely substitute materils as well. Wire wrapped over the hook shank has accounted for it's fair share of fish, as have plain thread ribbed with wire, mini-flat braid in hot colors like red and orange do the trick, floss, whatever you like. Tie a few up and try 'em. You'll be surprised how well they work under a variety of conditions. PINCH THE BARB ON THE MUSTAD HOOK, it's too dang big anyway!
